Dandelion

Little Sun upon the earth
Your appearance heralds the spring.
Bright you face the sky.
Hundreds of slender yellow petals.

To the bee, you are friend
First food after winters fasting To me, you are love
A reminder of precious people

To some, you are medicine
Powerful and sacred
To others, you are nothing but a weed
How blind they are to your beauty

Oh little sun upon the earth
Oh, bright little yellow thing
Oh little dandelion
Blessed may you be
